As well as fly fishing, I have also been making my own fishing flies for over three decades! There is something extremely satisfying about planning your fishing trip, considering what insects you are likely to see, sitting for an evening making beautiful, delicate representations of those bugs, casting them to a rising Trout and making a connection. Even getting the fish to hit your fly, regardless of hooking or landing it is in itself a wonderful feeling of achievement.

These two-hour evening lessons can take place either at your accommodation or at Assynt Fly Fishing HQ (with the obligatory delicious home baking of course!) There is also the option to hire fly tying equipment and some materials for your stay, or bought outright if you have been really bitten by the bug!
