Lagg Fishery – All Year Fun

Lagg Fishery is situated in the northern part of Assynt, on the B869 between Clashnessie and Drumbeg. Under the careful management of Tom Sharp, a man very experienced in the field, this has become a real bonus to the local Trout fishing scene.

The standard of Rainbow and Blue Trout here is outstanding and you have a very good chance of connecting with a fish of over five pounds – not a common occurrence in the surrounding ‘wild’ waters of Assynt! Combined with very easy access but retaining the wilderness feeling of the land, this is a superb venue for both the novice angler and the experienced fly fisher looking to put a ‘proper’ bend in their rod!

Bank and boat fishing is available and the fishery is open all year and is also a great option for very rough weather, as the fishing often improves as the conditions deteriorate. With a comfortable wooden hut to escape such weather and toilet facilities this is a great venue for getting youngsters interested in fly fishing and family fishing days.

Calling in advance, particularly in low season, is essential as Tom will have to unlock the gate to allow access. Please close the gate after entering as well. Different fishing tickets are available for catch and release or catch and keep, barbless hooks and not removing the fish from the water is mandatory for catch and release.
